Suprematist and Suprematism paintings were an important art movement named and founded in Russia by Kazimir Malevich. The first Suprematist Exhibition took place in 1915. Suprematism had many joint features with Constructivism and Cubism with its uses of geometric shapes and forms. This becomes apparent when viewing wide range of Suprematist oil paintings. Another Russian painter associated with the Suprematist Movement is Lyubov Popova. El Lissitsky was very heavily influenced by the Suprematist movement and this is evident in his Suprematism oil paintings.
