This style of painting originated in Milan, Italy during the early part of the 20th Century. Its main artists were Umberto Boccioni, Gino Severini and Giacomo Balla. The objectives of these artists was to reject the old values and styles and paint the modern age of industrialization and a perpetual state of movement.
