The Surrealist movement was formed in Paris by Andre Breton shortly after the First World War. The Surrealist art movement grew from the origins of the Dada movement and explores dreams and the bizarre of the imagination and unconscious. These make for some truly mystifying surrealism paintings which can now be enjoyed as surrealism replicas. Paintings from this art movement liberate the artist from reality, and this was the idea of the concept behind any surrealism oil painting. Salvador Dali is undoubtedly the most famous Surrealist, although Rene Magritte is also well known in the Belgian movement of Surrealism paintings. Iconic surrealism oil paintings include The Persistence of Memory by Salvador Dali, The Son of Man by Rene Magritte, George Chirico's The Red Tower and Reply to Red by Yves Tanguy.
You can buy many of these famous paintings today as surrealism reproductions.
