Archibald Thorburn is a Scottish artist specializing in wildlife paintings. He was born in 1860 and died in 1935. Many of his famous paintings of wildlife were created during his frequent visits to Scotland, particularly in Invernesshire and The Forest of Gaick. Thorburn was appointed by Queen Victoria as the Royal painter of miniatures. His paintings are as popular today as they were when he was alive.
