Gino Severini was an Italian painter who was a leading member of the Futurist art movement. However, in the 1920's, after the Second World War, he moved onto a Cubist style of painting creating murals, mosaics and frescos. Severini was acquainted with Georges Braques, Juan Gris and Amedeo Modigliani who were members of the Parisian Avant-garde. Severini’s painting La Danseuse Obsedante (The Haunting Dancer, Ruhelose Tanzerin) was painted in 1911 and is currently held in a Private Collection.
