August Allebe was born in the Netherlands in 1838 and is known for his early Romanticism and Impressionist paintings and Realism artworks. After studying Antwerp, Allebe continued his artistic education at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Allebe was a professor at the Royal Academy of Amsterdam, where he encouraged his students to discover the Modern Art movement.
