Charles Camoin was a French artist born in Marseille. His paintings are associated with the Fauvism art movement, but he was also linked to the French Expressionist Art Movement.
Camoin studied with Henri Matisse in Paris, where he met another famous French artist Andre Derain.
Matisse and Derain were the founding members of the Fauve art movement who are famous for their colorful paintings.
French art galleries and museums own many Charles Camoin oil paintings, and the most famous, a portrait of Matisse, is in the Centre Georges Pompidou.
Camoin's painting, Sail Boat in Port Cassis demonstrates his involvement with the Fauve movement, as does his oil painting La Plage De Sainte Maxime.
The bright and colorful wall art of Fauvist paintings are available in our online art collection.
Our fine art reproduction paintings by famous Fauve artists Henri Matisse and Andre Derain are for sale in many sizes.
