Walter Langley was a 20th century English painter famous for his paintings of fishermen and their families in Cornwall, as one of the founders of the Newlyn School of artists. He is known to have painted almost exclusively in water color until the 1890’s when he changed to oil on canvas.
His best known work is “Between the Tides” an oil on canvas painted in 1901.
