Austrian artist Carl Moll was born in Vienna where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts . He took inspiration from the Impressionists and also some of the Pointillist artists. Moll was a founding member of the Vienna Secession along with the famous artist Gustav Klimt. Moll is also closely aligned with the Art Nouveau Movement.
Moll’s paintings were never as well received as his peers and in 1945 he took his own life.
Moll’s painting, Birch Grove at Dusk is a very similar painting to Gustav Klimt’s Birch Trees.
