Juan Joaquin Agrasot. Juan Joaquin Agrasot was a Spanish painter of the 19th and early 20th century who is known for his Realistic style. He studied initially in Valencia, but moved to Rome, Italy to work and live until 1875, when he returned to live in Spain.
Agrosot was a proponent of the Costumbrismo genre which portrays everyday scenes of Spanish life.Although criticized as being too commercial in his work and subjects, Agrasot was a popular historical artist and his paintings sold well.
The Young Baccus by Juan Joaquin Agrasot was painted in 1872 and is on display at the Museu de Belles Arts in Valencia.
Agrasot’s landscape painting A Garden in Valencia is also housed at the Museu de Belles Arts.
