Lorenzo Lotto. 15th and early 16th century Italian painter attributed to the Venetian school. Lotto painted mainly in Northern Italy and his work was influenced by Giovanni Bellini. As was customary at the time, Lotto painted portraits of the Nobility and Church, as well as Biblical scenes, in the Classical style. Most of his paintings are held in Italy, although the Louvre in Paris and the National Gallery of Art in Washington DC own several examples.
Virgin and child with Saints Jerome and Anthony is a religious painting completed in 1424.
