Also known as the Pre-Raphaelite brotherhood, this was a secret society, initially, of English artists founded in 1848 by Dante Gabrielle Rossetti, who were rejecting classical styles of art that they associated with the artist Raphael. Edward Burne-Jones and William Morris joined the movement later on. John Maler Collier was also associated with this Group. A principal member of the Pre-Raphaelite Movement, Dante Gabrielle Rossetti’s oil painting Proserpine is held by the Tate Britain and was painted over a 7 year period. John William Waterhouse worked in the Pre-Raphaelite style and his oil on canvas painting entitled Boreas (the Greek God of the North Wind) was finished in 1903. Boreas achieved the highest selling price for one of his paintings when it was sold in the mid-1990’s.

My Gustav Klimt painting is now hanging on my wall. It really is a terrific work of art. I love the gold and the gold leaf application and everyone who sees it comments on how lovely it is. I am planning on ordering Judith 1 shortly.
