Addison Thomas Millar was a 19th century American painter best known for his studies of North African scenes. He trained in New York City with William Merritt Chase and at the Shinnecock Summer School, and later at the Academy Julian in Paris, from where he went on a trip to North Africa.
Some of his best known works are “Rue Koleher” in Algeria, “In The Market”, and “A Street Scene in Algiers”.
