Carle John Blenner is an American artist known for his society portraits and his Still Life paintings of flowers.
Blenner was born in Virginia in 1894 and classically trained in Europe. He graduated from Yale University Art School and went on study in Paris under William Auguste Bouguereau. Although his portrait paintings are accomplished, his floral still life paintings remain some of our most popular art reproductions on canvas.
Blenner kept a studio in New York City for over 50 years, and his oil paintings are held in famous art collections at the Houston Museum of Fine Arts and the Fort Worth Art Museum.
